China Mist Appoints National Sales Director to Midwest
Scott Svihula Brings Equipment, Water, & Tea Experience to China Mist Team
SCOTTSDALE, AZ – November 9, 2006 – China Mist Tea Company announces the appointment of Scott Svihula as their new National Sales Director for the Midwestern United States.
Svihula is certified in the Specialty Tea Institute Tea Certification Levels One, Two & Three and instructs on Levels One & Two. In March 2006, when China Mist Tea Company sponsored an STI Tea Certification, Levels One & Two, for its tea distributors, Scott Svihula was a co-instructor of the class.
He served on the 2003 & 2004 Take Me 2 Tea (now called the World Tea Expo) advisory board, and aided in implementing the Iced Tea Shake Off, which he received a special recognition for, in 2006.
For the past ten years, Scott Svihula has worked as a Director of Marketing, Regional Manager, Trainer and Educator for FETCO® a coffee and iced tea equipment manufacturer. His expertise lies in developing and implementing high-volume national coffee and tea programs for resorts, convention centers and stadiums.
Svihula has often been quoted in, and has authored, several articles in many trade publications as an expert in brewing equipment. For the past six years he has overseen the Master Brewing for the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s (SCAA) annual conference, brewing thousands of cups of coffee every morning for attendees. He has received a special recognition award from the SCAA for this work.
Scott Svihula also has experience with formulating the water to produce the best cup of tea possible.
“Water is a very important ingredient in a cup of tea, about 98.5% of tea is water,” said Svihula. “I know how to change the water to produce a fantastic cup of tea.”
He’s worked side by side with Cirqua Customized Water and learned to provide and maintain water formulation systems that “customize” or control water mineral content to exact standards to enhance tea extraction, for a perfect cup of tea.
Svihula resides in Wauconda, Illinois.
As a National Sales Director, Scott Svihula will assist current distributors with new business development through implementation of sales and marketing programs that contribute significantly to China Mist’s market positioning. He will develop new business relationships and provide support to the current base of customers, in the national account environment. Additionally, he will identify and recommend new distribution partners throughout his region of the United States: The Midwest.
“China Mist is so pleased to have Scott and his abundance of tea & equipment knowledge on our team,” said Rommie Flammer, President & Chief Operating Officer of China Mist Tea Company. “His experience with FETCO equipment and being (STI Tea) Certified Level Three makes him a great resource for us with equipment and with tea.”
China Mist Tea Company was co-created by John Martinson and Dan Schweiker in 1982 with gourmet iced teas blended for the foodservice industry.
Years later, the hot tea brand, Leaves Pure Teas, was acquired. In 2005, Martinson and Schweiker passed the teaspoon to Rommie Flammer, who, today, leads China Mist as President.
Additionally in 2005, China Mist became the exclusive importer of Mokarabia Real Italian Coffee. China Mist Teas and Mokarabia Real Italian Coffees are distributed internationally and available for retail sale through their website at www.chinamist.com.
